Here is a heartwarming story that should come as no surprise to anyone. Viggo visited a young author in the hospital in Tehran. The details are sketchy but our thanks to Gabriel and lilivenezuela from for surfacing the article and photos from an Asian newspaper, and to Stargazer and Aflon for bringing it to us at Viggo-Works.

Once again...Bravo Viggo!

From lilivenezuela...

Viggo is the loveliest man I've ever heard of. My friend Gabriel has just found a newspaper article in an Asian Newspaper and sent me this with pix. Sorry for the
bad translation:

"Viggo has been to Tehran to visit a patient with head trauma. A young author who was at the hospital due to an accident. The article says just how incredibly compassionate and kind this man (Viggo) is. He is the true example of a real and kind man."

House Votes to Ease Rule on Food Sales to Cuba

Only part of the bill easing the Cuba embargo and relations passed the House of Representatives.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The House of Representatives voted on Wednesday to make it easier to sell U.S. farm products to Cuba by overriding a Bush administration requirement to pay in cash before the ship leaves be made before the goods change hands, a more common approach for cash sales that also speeds delivery. It became part of a Treasury funding bill passed on a 406-22 vote.

Representatives killed two other proposed amendments aimed at revising U.S. relations with Cuba, including one to end the U.S. economic embargo in place since the early 1960s.

Thanks to all of you for the heads up on this message from Viggo at Perceval. The message is quite clear about making the effort to impact this issue.

Bravo Viggo!
Urgent: Congress to vote on Cuban Embargo--Take Action!

At this moment, the House of Representatives is considering amendments to the Transportation/Treasury Appropriations bill (H.R. 5576). The following amendments concerning Cuba will be voted on:

-Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) Amendment- to rollback restrictions on educational travel to Cuba

-Rep. Jerry Moran (R-KS) Amendment- to facilitate agricultural trade between the U.S. and Cuba

-Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY) Amendment- to defund enforcement of the economic embargo on Cuba

Passing these amendments is an important step in normalizing relations with Cuba. Please call your Representative right away and ask him/her to vote in favor of the above amendments to the Transportation/Treasury Appropriations Bill (H.R. 5576).
